Aberdeenshire is one of the UK’s outstanding coastlines with over 165 miles to explore, Newtonhill Bay and the beautiful seaside town of Stonehaven with its sheltered working harbour are nearby.

Balmoral is one of the world’s most famous castles but there are another 299 famous, fairy-tale or ruined castles in Aberdeenshire as well as the Royal residence.

Whisky is as old as Scotland itself with eight distilleries lovingly producing liquid gold for centuries.

Cairngorms National Park

The Cairngorms is the UK’s largest National Park offering masses of things to do including wildlife watching, high and low level walking, cycling routes and outstanding views to take in.

Shopping

There are two supermarkets close by and a range of smaller local stores. A Tesco Metro and Village Store at Newtonhill and a 24 hour Asda Superstore and McColls at Portlethen. Aberdeen is only a few miles away with five shopping centres, boutiques and independent stores offering a great shopping experience.

Public Transport

Public transport in Chapelton will connect residents to surrounding Aberdeenshire towns as well as the Aberdeen city centre. All the A90 bus services stop at the Park and Choose facility built for residents of Chapelton and neighbouring Newtonhill. A town minibus will convey residents to nearby shops and the Park and Choose before the town’s own facilities are established. As Chapelton grows, a direct express bus service to Aberdeen will run through the town centre. Aberdeen airport is only a short 35 minute drive from Chapelton and can be accessed directly from the Park and Choose.
