Liberty launches charity walk
The first Chapelton Charity 5K Walk has been heralded as a great success, after around 50 registrants took part in the inaugural event on September 3rd.
Sponsored by Liberty Retirement Living, the walk helped raise vital funds for North East Sensory Services (NESS), a local charity supporting blind and deaf people to live independent lives.
The scenic 5K walk route started out from Liberty’s new sales suite on the corner of Liddell Park in Chapelton, taking in the neighbouring Elsick House, and the surrounding Aberdeenshire countryside.
On their return to Chapelton, walkers were met with complementary refreshments from Slate & Grain – the new food & drink brand developed specially for Liberty retirement villages across the country.
Many participants also took the opportunity to visit Liberty Retirement Living’s brand new sales suite which opened on the same day, offering a snapshot of the homes and lifestyle to come in the forthcoming retirement community.
Coupled with the annual Chapelton Bike Ride - which took place on the same day - the Chapelton Charity walk raised more than £7,000 in sponsorship and donations towards North East Sensory Services.
Karl Hallows, Director of Development and Sales at Liberty Retirement Living said: “Thank you to everyone who took part in the first Chapelton Charity 5K Walk, helping raise so much money for a great local cause.
“Chapelton is located in a beautiful part of Aberdeenshire, making it a really attractive prospect for home-buyers. Liberty’s retirement village in the town will offer spectacular views of this stunning local scenery, and provide residents with regular access to the surrounding countryside.”
