Chapelton is underway

Work is well underway removing rocks and preparing the ground for Liberty’s first retirement village in Scotland, at Chapelton in Aberdeenshire.

Phase two of Chapelton’s continuing development will create a new Liberty community for the over-55s, as well as 250 new homes, recreational, green and commercial spaces in the town.

The latest phase will also see the creation of Liddell Park – a landscaped focal centre at the heart of Chapelton, which will border the Liberty village.

Construction of Liberty Chapelton, which will comprise 94 apartments and cottages alongside dedicated village facilities, will begin in earnest in Summer 2017.

A Liberty marketing suite will also be installed in the town in September 2017, with the first homes scheduled for completion in Autumn 2018.

Karl Hallows, Director of Development and Sales at Liberty, said: “This first stage of groundwork is an exciting milestone in the development of Liberty Chapelton, as it paves the way for our first building work commencing on site.

“We’re looking forward to starting work on the homes and facilities that will make Liberty Chapelton a unique retirement offer in the Aberdeenshire area.”
